ID6 Hi-Fi (non-HK/Top-HiFi)
Hi all,
I'm just trying to confirm something. Does your 2018+ (ID6 i-drive) with Hi-Fi have a built in EQ? Not just the simple Bass/Treble, but an actual EQ to adjust the various frequencies like HK/Top-Hi-Fi systems have? I'm trying to compare it to my 2019 ID6 equipped M4cs, which does have an EQ setting I know we have the same 205 watt 9 speaker set-up, but our speaker placement in the rear is different from each other.

The question is specifically for the ID6 i-drives, does that still apply for ID6 or new i-drives?
The F80/F82/F83 Hi-Fi doesn't have an EQ either with the older i-drive units (ID5 for instance). Since you can no longer get an M3/M4 without H/K on the non-CS models, I wanted to find out if the ID6 Hi-Fi systems have an EQ as well. If the ID6 Hi-Fi doesn't come with this on the standard 3/4 series, I would imagine this could be coded in as the M4cs has this EQ feature on their ID6 Hi-Fi.

Ordering Guides for the 2019 and 2020 M4CS shows no HiFi standard or optional, it actually shows Stereo (no OEM amp) as its standard sound system with no optional sound system at all. Ordering Guide for the 2018 M3CS shows HK as standard.
7-Band EQ feature is on MOST OEM amps and not analog (HiFi), regardless of iDrive version. Is there a Surround feature selection in your iDrive screen? Quote:

Yes, there is a surround sound on/off feature on the I-drive Tone menu on the M4cs.
If you go based on a few sources, the M4cs has the 676 and not the 688 like the M3cs has. Real OEM also shows a 676 system when I type in my VIN. I can tell simply by look into the available speaker grills that we don't have metal-looking tweeters like the 688's either. Let me take a look at what my window sticker says, I do recall it saying Hi-Fi system. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1438269

"Surround" means that your system is 688.
Remove the plastic lid from left side of trunk liner and see if your OEM amp has a 20-pin connector and a pair of fiber optics cables plugged in. That's 688. Quote:

It appears that the M4cs has a mash-up of various parts.
Yes, I just confirmed the 20 pin and the MOST signal on mine. It looks like we have: -HK amp w/ MOST signal -likely not HK speakers and instead the Hi-Fi speakers since we don't have the metal tweeters and double center speaker arrangement and instead have the Hi-Fi mid-range only in there -9 speaker arrangement like the 676 Hi-Fi unit Now I wonder if BMW is intensionally over-driving their 676 speakers, perhaps they can actually handle the extra power? Sorry for the confusion all. This is strange, my window sticker says "HI FI sound system with HD Radio" and all of REALOEM says its a 676 unit.
