Hello,

Got a bangin 500w 10' in the car, and recently have been dealing with a rattle. After exhausting all options i finally figured out its the stupid gas tank door.

Has anyone found a solution to this? It honestly makes it sound like the subwoofer is fucked up and its extremely annoying.

I have seen other threads but no solutions. Somebody said to replace the spring mechanism, but wouldnt it just break again?

Without seeing the issue personally, I'd suggest installing a few strips of CLD (e.g. Dynamat, Noico, etc.) or Buytl rope. This is more of a Band Aid solution, but usually works.

Try a few small pieces of weather stripping near where the gas tank door locks to the vehicle. Will make it slightly harder to close, but also removes the space available to rattle. In the US we can get it at hardware stores like Home Depot or auto parts stores like Pep Boys.
