What Headunit is this?

2017 340i

Non-nav.

What is the "code" for this headunit?

I think its HU_NBT2 with iDrive 4.

I'm doing homework on a car I'm interested in, want to learn OEM options to get CarPlay. I'm guessing I need to do the "NBT Evo" swap, but then also lose HD Radio and Connected Services which is a bummer.

Your OEM HU is called Basic Media in BMW-speak.

With the proper parts and coding you can swap that Basic Media HU with an NBT-EVO2 and lose no OEM features already present in your model.
