Battery Discharging Display Warning
Hi everyone,
I would like to inquire about a solution to the battery discharging display warning. I have not driven my used 2016 435i x in possibly 3-4 weeks now, as a result of the virus. I unfortunately live about 20 minutes from the parking garage where I park my car. What should I do? Call the dealership to have the car serviced? Are the dealerships even open (as I do not think they are not an essential business?)? Thanks for your time. K EDIT: After I saw the warning, I drove the car around town for a good hour or so, I initially stopped for gas, and after I turned off the ignition again to fill up, the warning popped up again about the battery discharging. I'm really scared of my car running out of battery. |

If you haven't driven it for three or four weeks, chances are it's been discharged quite a bit. Go to your local auto parts store, and buy a battery tester. Or have them test it for you

How do I use the battery tester once I purchase it? I don't know if auto-parts store are open around where I live, I would assume not since they aren't an essential business? Our Governor extended the stay at home guidelines.
EDIT: So I've been doing some research, apparently driving the car can recharge the battery, but how long of a duration should it be and at what speeds and conditions should it be done to optimally charge the battery ? Thanks! Last edited by klasjdh; 04-27-2020 at 03:48 PM.. |
