Can I update my iDrive if I have the small screen without the navigation?

I am not talking about the software update you find on BMW's website btw

Any help is appreciated!

as in can you go from id4 to id5/6?

not easily, and you will encounter an unstable hu after

plus you would have to ship out your hu to a pro to do it, so you would be without entertainment for some amount of time

you can do a id5/6 retrofit depending on what you really want to do $1500-3000 depending on what you need

or carplay mmi w/ 8.8 inch bmw screen for about $400
or android 10 inch cid for a bit more

Yes exactly like this! Go from one idrive update to another! I guess it's not really possible then :/

possible, yes...stable and free, no

inexpensive great mods are ~$150-200 for the 8.8 inch widescreen cid from ebay

and about $250 for a carplay/aa mmi
