Hardrace Suspension Upgrades for G20

These are available for the G20, and for good value too. Did a bit of research on them and they're supposedly pretty good quality. Interesting note is that it is also made compatible with the A90 Supra. Wonder how these mods when installed on G20 will impact ride quality.

Why do you need more rear camber? Factory spec is -1.67 to 1.75deg (+/- 0.42deg) in the rear for the various G20 suspensions. That's more than I run for the track on my F31.

The front is typically where BMWs need more camber with the macpherson strut design. With the multilink rear, the negative camber increases as the suspension loads, versus the opposite of losing negative camber with the front macpherson strut.

Now if you're just looking to make things stiffer by removing the rubber bushings in the control arms and replacing them with monoballs, these arms would work for that.

Thanks for this I was really trying to ask for some answers.

I am currently looking for front suspension parts too and I think SPL has them made for the A90 Supra and the G29 Z4, which means they should fit for the G20 even though it isn't listed, we share the same suspension.

Just looking for parts as I am on lowered suspension, and these seem to benefit the springs. I'm not looking to do coilovers anytime soon so small upgrades to the stock suspension is what I'm looking for at the moment. Besides the functionality aspect I'm just looking at more rear camber adjustment for aesthetic purposes, though I agree the front honestly needs more for high speed turning/cornering.

I also want to know, if for instance I run SPL front lower control arms and I run the rear Hardrace camber kit, will that be fine? Or should I be running the same brand suspension upgrades for front and rear? Just wondering because if I end up going for the Hardrace camber kit whether or not I can still go for another company for aftermarket for the fronts.

When you lower the car you change the roll center of the car. Typically different shaped arms are used to correct this, but unless you've done the measurements and know where the roll center is, it's kind of pointless to spend the money if you don't know where you're correcting to. Additionally you'll probably want to consider adjustable end links if lowering a lot.

See my video below at 3:50 why you might want adjustable end links.

More rear camber with as little as BMW provides up front will just make the car understeer more. That's actually the reason BMW specs so much rear camber stock from the factory, so that you understeer instead of oversteer.

You can run different mfg's adjustable arms, however you'd probably want to run the same brand on the same axle (like all SPL front and all Hardrace rear). Sometimes they can do some funky things with the geometry of their new parts and not make it obvious. On the F3x platform someone found out that you can't JUST run SPL LCA/wishbones, and that you also need to get their tension strut arm too.

Again, thanks a ton for the detailed response! Really appreciate the time and quality of your reply, it's thorough and answers all the questions.

Swapped out my winters for my all season performance tires back on today and honestly they perform so much better than my winters, it's actually a day and night difference. Handles quite well now, actually.

Anyhow, I'll take a look into adjustable end links, sounds like an upgrade that is actually worth the money for some decent improvement in handling on a lowered car.

If I do end up doing SPL front control arms or the Hardrace camber kit, I'll be sure to keep y'all updated!

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I am too curious to know if you went through with the spl parts and how they fit if you did?

*Edit: SPL stated that the z4/supra parts do not fit on the g20 but that their parts for the g20 will be releasing soon

Hey guys made an account to comment here - I bought SPL lower control arms for the A90 supra about 6 months ago, tried to fit and they wouldn't, this was with RBM Hampshire, BMW specialists. Turner just released LCAs designed for G20. Will be buying them in about a month

Link for Turners? I found there swaybar end links, but not the LCA’s.

"This product is no longer available for purchase." I was looking at these a few months ago & wish I had bought them.
