E-Z Pass mounting location

Quick one - will an ez pass tag be in the way of anything sensitive if I mount it in the standard location on the windshield behind the rear view mirror? Do you have an area where you recommend to mount it?

Mine's just to the right of rear view mirror. No issues. Apologies for the nighttime shot!

LOL FFS now everyone has seen my comfy wrinkly rear seats but that's for another thread!

I used the same motorcycle reader on my G05 with the same placement as my F15 shown below:

Always position mine to the right as well - never an issue.

I sprayed it with black plasti-dip so that it blends in with the interior. The switch is used to select the number of passengers. Order goes 2-1-3. Mounted on the right side behind the mirror. I cannot see it from the driver's seat.

I usually stick mine in the lower left corner of the windshield almost on the dash, pretty much under NY registration & inspection stickers. Out of sight, but never had an issue with it not registering.

I keep mine in the center console...I get the green light in the EZ PASS lane every single time. In PA, which should be the same for elsewhere, if they can't read the transponder...they snap your plate and reference it with your account. If the plate is listed on the account, you're good to go. Been doing that in personal and work vehicles for the past 4 years without issue or violation.

In so cal the transponder must be mounted in the window. I believe you can get a ticket if it is not in the window even though you have it and the vehicle plate is registered for transponder use. They are also rolling out technology to detect the actual passenger count in each vehicle. Currently it is possible to cheat the system by always leaving the transponder at 2 or 3 passenger settings even though there is only 1 person in the vehicle.

Jeez, I'm sorry...I think we might be the Wild West out here on the East Coast. I've never gotten a nasty letter or ticket that way. To me, the can scan the plates and find out, since they will anyway to send you a violation notice if you don't have an account. It reminds me of the cable companies and their cable boxes. Just an ancillary product to make extra $$$$.
