Akrapovic Exhaust on M2C?

I was just wondering, who here in Oz has installed the Akrapovic exhaust on their M2C?

Either only the slip-on or the full Evolution system.

If you have, what are your impressions?

Good question fastcars. I would second that question.

In addition, I would like to know the approximate cost for the diff back muffler.

Cheers!

The full system is ~11k with the link pipe.

There are many other palatable options on the market when the factory one doesn't make you happy anymore. Actually that is a lie they are all damn too expensive for some pipe and a box.

I have the Akra slip on and love it. I didn't like the low hanging muffler and the akra improves as much as possible on the S55 exhaust note. Not cheap but no regrets. I've also turned off ASD. Can try to get a proper go pro video done if interested?

Awesome! How much to install one? Do you have to cut the original pipe? Did you turn off ASD with software e.g bimmercode or with harness? How much difference between ASD on or off?

You're looking at circa 8 to 9k for supply and install from memory ... Definitely not cheap. Painting the exhaust is cheaper haha. They do have to cut the original pipes.

ASD was turned off with software in bimmercode. I didn't own it long enough with ASD to compare. I've just never been a fan of fake exhaust sound. I installed it the day I dropped it off to the detailer.

I'll try to get a video from my gopro or phone this weekend.

Edit: sorry less than 8k closer to 7. My receipt included the rear CF diffuser.

Does switching the ASD void warranty?

Also I've researched about deleting the OPF.
There is a device to suppress the signal from the OPF to the ECU.
Does Akra remove the opf?

No need to worry about OPF here in OZ as our cars do not have it

Does that mean they sound alike the US versions and not the Euros?

We installed a new full Akrapovic Evolution exhaust on one today. The build quality is amazing.

The Akra is a nice piece of kit but if anyone says it is "light" because it is titanium then this is incorrect. It is "lighter" but nowhere near what a full JDM titanium system weighs. For example my amuse R1 titan y pipe, mid pipe and twin chamber rear box was about 6.5kg in total.

Do I still want an over weight akra, hell yes.. just wish it was lighter. Fitted a full system with dumps to a M3 recently and sounds awesome.
