330e specific owner’s manual

Hi

I’ve just ordered a new 330e company car (it took more than 2 weeks to release the order from the lease company to bmw, I just found out today!).

I’ve managed to download some g20 owner manual but can’t find any with 330e specific details (charging, range, dials info, etc). Can anyone please help me to get them? I know when I get my VIN I’ll be able to do so... but it’ll still take several weeks! I’m just too eager to read more about the 330e

Is there any reason you cannot just borrow someone's VIN and then open a 330e specific manual?

Go and take a look at a 330e in your local BMW garage and while admiring the beauty and splendour, take a cheeky pic of the VIN number in the bottom corner of the windscreen. 😉

That seems perfect! But, how can you do that Blackers? If I use a 2019 3 series VIN at Drivers Guide app I cannot open any 330e specific manual (just the "generic" one that matches that VIN). Where should I use that VIN to be able to open the 330e? Thank you.

You would need the VIN from a 330e, that would then open the Drivers Guide to that particular model even down to the right colour

Try this one VIN WBA8E1C55JA180229

Or VIN. WBA5X72090FH63896

Thank you so much Blackers!! The second VIN worked perfectly! (first one is a 2016 330e)

Where did you find these manuals, Eddie?
I just got a 330e touring xdrive, and the norwegian manual is so poorly translated in places that I would like the English one. Can you help?

Eddie, thanks from me as well. I could only find this manual on the App on my phone, but I want to read it through in comfort on my PC. BMW seemed reluctant to offer me a route to download from the App

Great user manual

Hi all,

I am also eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new 330e and finding a user manual on here has only made the wait worse becuase of all the cool things the car seems to be able to do!

This will be my first BMW and I am so looking forwards to playing with all the different settings!

I just found out, reading the manual, that I should be able to get the car warm before my journey to work in the morning! Fantastic!!

In terms of the wi-fi hotspot is this tethered to a UK provider or can we change it to another. I read that the charges and data allowances are pretty bad.

Thanks in advance!

Ps) Will I get a BMW ID to use on the App when I take delivery of the car?

Congrats, you're up for a treat! Notice that there's a lot that depends on the options you choose though, but warming the car is not one of them!

The Wi-Fi hotspot thing is pointless. For some reason, BMW uses a German provider and the prices, capacity and speeds are ridiculous. Just use the hotspot from your phone and problem solved.

Thanks!

I thought I read in the manual that Preconditioning was possible, prior to a set departure time? Is this just Air Conditioning?

Thanks for the info about the Wi-fi. That seems to be what others have said TBH.

Yeah, both, you can either set the departure time, in which case car the car starts warming the interior about 30 min prior the set departure time, or you can activate it to start immediately, from the app.

It uses the air con, and warms up the seats and steering wheel (if you have that option). It uses the last set temp for the air-conditioning in the car.

Be warned though, if you are planning on doing as many electric miles as possible, preconditioning does affect an already pretty poor electric mileage range.

Don't believe the dealer, the car or the app when looking at battery range. Yesterday I left home with 30 mile range (best I've ever see it display). Managed about 15. (sedate suburban driving with kids in car, no preconditioning, in hybrid mode)

Thumbs up

Thanks eddiehaug

willougs - I was lead to beleive that the new generation has a larger battery and hence range 'should' be possible for around 30-35 miles?

My commute is on pretty slow roads. Average speed in my current car is a whopping 35 Mph!
