got my track tires today - 265/35/18 and 285/30/18 :-) pics inside

Just thought I share my excitement about having received my track tires and rims today. Thanks to Ben from Tirerack who was very helpful

I decided to go with the TR Motorsports rims in 18", they are very lightweight and where reasonably priced. The setup is BFGoodrich gForce R1's 265/35/18 in the front and 285/30/18 in the back. I can't wait to mount them and track the car

here are the pics:

yeah that's what I am hoping for - as for the body roll: I don't think that I will have a lot, despite my stock suspension :-) and I won't even switch the EDC to sport.

I am jealous. I'm planning on using my OEM 18"s for my racing rubber.

you can certainly do that - I just didn't want to deal with remounting the tires onto my street rims

the rears are 10.0" and I don't know yet if they rub - I will provide an update here once I have mounted them...

Are you running 9.5 in front? Did the Tirerack guys tell you the 10s wouldn't fit or did you want to run the staggered set-up (my choice for the track)?

Nice! I got similar setup, I went with the staggered stock sizes, 245 up front 265 rear, same tire BFG R1s, I bought the tires off Craigslist, rims from tire rack, total was $515 for rims, $460 for tires, $80 for mounting.

I'm headin to California speedway end of Sept with this setup, can't wait to try em out!

roughly 2.600 and change out the door, balanced and heat cycled :-)

I wanted to keep the staggered setup since I didn't want to introduce too much oversteer - the staggered setup performed well and almost neutral the last couple of track days

I will report back when I come back from Laguna Seca this weekend

10" wide will fit both front 285/30/18 and back295/30/18 with no rubbing.
I have done 3 full track days no rubbing.

Any one want to by a set of these in 10" with Yoko A048 265/35/18 or 295/35/18 Need to sell one or both pairs so I can get 11" for the rears.

Rupert right? I think we met at the Milbrae meet the other weekend.

The track setup looks slick! Hope to get out there and race around with you when I get my 135.

correct Nick - I just came back from Laguna Seca, OMG what a beast that car is and Seca is pretty fast...I fear that I need new brake pads soon

I will post my experience and pics/videos soon
