Love the ///M lineup, love the house, love the AZ yard w/no grass coverage to maintain - looks great all around! Thanks for sharing.

Congrats! I'll be curious to know how it feels compared to the Z4M Coupe once you've done the break-in service. I have 1,600km to go myself!

Well, my previous F80 M3 was about the same size as my E39. The M2C is about a foot shorter, almost most exact length of the E46 M3.

Will do. I've had an F80 for 3 years, so I know what the S55 can do. The Z4M coupe and M2C are such different cars, but I can sense the shared DNA.

I might have asked you in another thread but how does the gearbox compare between the two? My Z4M had some issues getting into 2nd when it wasn’t having a good day.

Looking at an M2C and trying to figure out if it’s what I want, or am I really wanting a Cayman.

It's just the angle. E39 M5 is about the same size as F8x which is noticeably longer/bigger than M2. I have a M2C/F80 M3 in my garage side by side.

The gearbox is MUCH smoother in the M2C (and was on my F80) then in the Z4M. I don't have an issue with 2nd not going in but the 1-2 shift is quite notchy in the in the Z4M (mitigated somewhat by a weighted ZHP knob and CDV delete).

Can't go wrong with a Cayman but the relative lack of low end grunt compared to the M2C and no back seats sealed the deal for me given it is my DD.

Nice. I recognized that house and once I saw the E39 I knew you were the Kevin from the M5Boards. Congratulations on the new ride. This was European delivery correct?

Totally agree about the 1 --> 2 in the Z4M...always drove me a little crazy in my dad's car.

Mine was only good on a hot day after warm-up. I could have lived with the notch / delay into 2nd if it didn't do that weird grind thing where it never went into the gate for me occasionally. I probably should have pushed for a replacement transmission.

Thanks! Actually, I did European delivery for my previous DD, a F80 M3 ZCP in 2016. It was a great experience. I couldn't get ED to align with when I wanted the car this time.

Love the driveway!

Moving here to the Mojave, I really appreciate shots like that. Oh yeah, the cars are great as well. True BMW fan with that stable!
