ECU Reset

Is it possible to perform an ECU reset without going to the dealer?

You can reset learned adaptations with BM3 or ISTA diagnostics, but I don't think that will help your issue with torque output.

M2C is deliberately much more linear in torque delivery compared the M3/4 S55 which was a whole heap of torque at 2-3K.

The idea is to rev the M2C, more like NA delivery.

Exactly this! I remember that with one of my previous cars 2002 MINI Cooper S I could perform a sequence via the BC button where I could enter the service menu and perform a reset of the ECU that would resent the ECU's learned adaptations to my driving habits.

There is a way to do that on your car for sure but I don't recall the steps. YouTube probably has the steps.

Get one of those OBD 2 V-gate scanners and one of those cheap code scanner APPs, go into the "clear codes" (even if these isn't any) and hit "clear."

That will clear all the adaptions, including DCT data.
