Milltek sport vs race

Hello all, I am in the market for the milltek exhaust in 3 weeks when my m2 Comp arrives. Has anyone heard both the sport and race exhaust? I know the race is louder but by how much.

I have the non race system but I've not heard the race one in person.

Mines plenty loud enough for me with great deep sound and some monumental artillery round burbles in sport +

I had a chat with the guys at Milltek and the difference is all in the middle silencer, the quieter version has more perforated tube inside whereas the race has more solid tube. In both versions the exhaust steams are able to mix in that middle chamber.

All other parts are identical between normal and race.

Don’t you have OPF delete pipes too?

Would like to listen to yours sometime- I’m also in the Midlands

Yes OPF replaced with 200 cell CATS though.

Whereabouts are you?

Yours will be significantly louder than just the OPF back system I assume?

I’m in Nottinghamshire.

Maybe a tad, but not much. The non EU cars have small secondary CATS in place of OPF as do all pre-OPF S55 cars. So all I've done is make it the same as a non eu car.

I fitted secondary CATs as I'll likely go for decat DPS next it'll need CATS to pass MOT...

Exact same situation. Would really like to hear the 2 side by side to help me make my decision.

If you are running stock downpipes, get the race. If you running catless, get the sport. Race is too loud with catless pipes

this is what milltek said when i emailed them about the difference

"With regards your enquiry the M2 Comp Race system we offer is similar to the OE when in Comfort mode (valves closed) however sees an approx. 15db increase in volume in Sport Plus mode (valves open).

This is a noticeable increase outside the cabin whilst still retaining a low volume level internally."

Milltek M2C exhaust is becoming a very popular choice for our customers (Third behind REMUS and Active Autowerke). Race is the more popular option

Are there any better videos out other than the one on Millteks page? I'd like to hear the race axle back only.
