MPE Valve Behavior W/O Remote

Picked up a M2 that has the MPE, but did not come with the BT button. While driving behind it and revving it, the valves seem to never open. I switched the box in the trunk on and off trying it again in both states and nothing happens.

I thought they would still behave like the stock exhaust based on the driving modes, but doesn't seem so. :

Do we have to have the remote to tap into the true sound of the MPE?

Nope. MPE valves only open/close via the remote.

Ah got it. Thanks, guess I'll look into that adapter between the oem connector to the two motors.

I wish the integration had been into the car like the 440 I had with M sport exhaust. Whenever I would put it in sport mode the exhaust would open up and sound real good. I guess to get the same result you gotta go via the BT remote only.
