Running in service oil(s)

Hi All,

I'm fast approaching delivery date now, and have been researching what the running in service entails.

From what I can see, it's the engine and gearbox (or diff?) oil that gets changed, plus some software tweaks.

Does anyone know what oil is used and how much for each? Being a tight Yorkshireman, I was planning on providing the oil to reduce the cost!

Thanks in advance
Pete

My service is included free of charge for first 36k miles or 3 years.

Is yours separate charge?

No unfortunately not, in the UK all servicing is an extra cost

I'm currently sat in the dealership having my m135i serviced, so I'll ask the question, but I'm almost certain I'll have to pay

Yeah the dealer confirmed that it's approx £250-£300 (he was going on his dinner when I asked so it was a best guess).

He said the best bet was to wait for the car to arrive and ring up with the registration info and the parts department will advise what and how much oil I need.

I'll post up the info once I've got it for other people's reference

engine oil, diff oil, launch control now available if DCT, service computer reset so it doesn't keep thinking it needs run in service. They do the regular checks they do on fluids that they would on a normal service as well. That's it.
