Newbie q on the M2C
I just picked up my M2C, traded in a '17 M2 - so, one fundamental question I have is what did BMW do to detune the S55 for the m2 implementation?

Only different software with less power at the top end (above 5000rpm), none hardware modifications so you can "restore" the original M4 power - or more - in every moment
In Europe we also have the particulate filters on the exhaust, but it's not your case. |

Perusal of Realoem suggests they remapped it.
And changed the centre and rear sections of the exhaust. Otherwise, the intakes, the turbos, the engine, the manifolds, the fuel system (including the pumps), and the intercooler and the cooling system all appear to be common with at least one other S55 engined M model. |
