N55 Spark Plugs

I searched but cant find a solid answer.

Are these Bosch plugs okay to use or should I purchase directly from the dealer?

I keep hearing that some people had issues with Bosch plugs....

Thats what i run. ZERO ISSUES. Make sure it has the S in the end of the part number. Without the S is the multi tip N54 type and those wont work.

I installed a set of these a few weeks ago and they're great! No issues, and half the cost of OEM

They're the same as the dealer, except they don't have a BMW logo.

The manual says every 60k. If you have the performance package, it's reduced to every 40k. I follow 40k since I am running MHD S1.

As 'Welcome to NBA Jam' mentioned, they are the same plug. Bosch is the OE provider to BMW (at least one of them) for their plugs. The only difference between the two is the price (with Bosch, you don't have to pay the BMW tax).

With FBO are the stock plugs good to run or is there an NGK that is better for tuned N55?

Everyone seems to have different experiences with regards to spark plugs. Run what's good for your car and your driving habits/conditions. I run dealer plugs (you can find them other places than the dealer BTW) they seem to run the spoothest in my car with the mods I have. Factory gap too.

I was replacing mine every 20k but plan to switch to 40k unless I can notice an issue. I will be FBO, methanol, PS2. Probably running around 18 psi or whatever I can get away with on this HPFP.

I recall reading a thread where Bosch was contacted and the "S" plugs have different grounding or something IIRC, I'll search. So I have always only used the BOSCH ZR5TPP33S. I am FBO, 20psi or so and I am only on my second set in 100k, about 26k on the last set since upping the boost.

I use NGK SILZKBR8D8S; they’re one step colder than stock, for the 2011, 335i.

My custom tune is just a little bit more aggressive than the MHD OTS. I’m gapped to 22
