Exhaust mod...resonator or no?

My M5 should arrive around the end of the year...and I'm beginning to take inventory of mods I plan to do. I'm curious on exhaust mods, if people are going with resonators or not? I know Eisenmann has a performance mid pipe exhaust with and without the resonator...and I'm not sure what Akrapovic systems have. Either way, curious what people have done and if they have any regrets on their choice of resonator or no.

If you ordered an M5C I would tell you the exhaust is good enough to keep.

I ordered the base M5...not the comp edition. Is the only difference between the 2 exhaust systems the M sport mid pipes?

That's my understanding, but I could be wrong. I may go to a local shop and see if they can remove the resonator in the midpipes and create an x pipe.

The tuning of the competition model makes for a more aggressive exhaust note. So even with the hardware the competition models will be louder than base

That is a difference but the tune on the M5C also makes a significant impact on the exhaust note.
