Is is possible to debadge the side vents? Anyone else debadged 100%?

Just curious, I'm planning to run stealth.

A bit OT.....I know you obviously mean the visible, extenal M badges. As a funny side note to consider think about how hard it would be to compelely debage. Seats, dash, forged suspension arms, stamped parts in the aluminum hood, engine plastic and metal, etc., etc., etc. Would be interesting to know the total M logo count in a car.

///M Overload! There's probably 100 logos in that car (I am exaggerating... or am I?)

with people having their aftermarket grilles warping, the vents have to help with heat dispersal.

That is completely false. The side vents with the embedded turn signals and the ///M3 logo is completely aesthetic, aside from the turn signal but the vent itself is useless. There is no heat dissipation that occurs there, and there certainly is not an exhaust port routed up to it. BMW even commented about it once. If it had an actual exhaust port hooked up to it, the car would get quite dirty in a very bad spot, straight down the side of the doors.

I know for a fact on the e46 M3 the fender flares were purposeful. They wider rubber on the wheels required flared fenders. While I don't know to the level of certainty that I do for the e46, I am quite confident that the e92 fenders are in the same boat. Flared to accommodate wider rubber.

Also, the after market grills warping thing isn't an issue with heat dispersal. The heat from the engine is just causing the clear coat over the carbon fiber to bubble. You also are mixing 2 different areas of the car, the kidney grills (up front and center) and the side vents (just aft the front wheel-wells).

Btw, welcome to the forum. Alan Shore is amazing.

I would not be so sure. On the E46 M3 one of the side gills was used to cool the engine electronics. I would bet it is the same on the E92 M3. I had a look at my car but can not tell due to the amount of covers and concealed hardware.

Who said anything about combustion exhaust, that would indeed be absurd.

There was a thread someone posted up a few months ago about the side vents being functional or not. They had gotten some BMW rep to comment on them and their function, saying that "they look like vents, are they functional?" The BMW rep's responce was that they were purely aesthetic. I imagine that if they were really used for heat dispersal of any kind he would of mentioned it as a feature for the beastly engine.

I don't have alot of time but if its of alot of concern I'll track down that thread from a while back.
