Harmon Kardon in 40i vs 50i
Seems like the HK upgrade is different depending on which engine your choose. Seems odd. The HK if the 40i is listed as 360-watt, 12-speaker system whereas the HK in the 50i is 464-watt, 16-speaker system. Why would they make them different?

Both get the same system (as shown below). Its just standard in the 50i and an option on the 40i. Its the same item code (688) for both cars.
Harman Kardon® Surround Sound Audio System with vehicle-specific equalizing and powerful 464-watt amplifier; the 16-speaker system includes 7 tweeters, 4 midrange speakers located in the door panels and 2 midrange speakers located in the D-pillar, 2 bass speakers located under the front seats and 1 midrange center channel speaker

Could be a lot of different reasons. Maybe more efficient speakers? Not sure why it would have anything to do with the battery since the alternator would power the amp when the engine is on. The B&W system has way more power and I can't imagine they use a different alternator if you get that option.
