Can anyone confirm there is more rear seat room in the G05?
I see lots of references to both longer wheelbase and longer length and width of the G05 compared to the 2018s, and I've seen several subjective reviews commenting on a spacious rear seat (2nd row) but I have yet to see a head to head comparison between the rear seat (not 3rd row) of the old vs G05.
Anyone here sat in it? |

I should be able to sit in one on Tuesday. Our dealer is getting their G05 training car...my CA invited me to come see it.
But based on the specs, yes the G05 does have more rear legroom. Not a ton more, but its something! Its about 2 inches more that our 528i, so that will be a welcome increase. G05 Rear Leg Room = 37.4 inches F15 Rear Leg Room = 36.6 inches G05 Rear Head Room = 38.7 inches F15 Rear Head Room = 38.3 inches G05 Rear Shoulder Room = 58.1 inches F15 Rear Shoulder Room = 58.3 inches

Depends on where the width increased and the lines of the car. Generally, width is measured from the widest exterior point on the car not including the mirrors. So, just because a car increased in width does not automatically mean that interior width would increase. For example, lets say the widest part of two vehicles is between the front wheel arches and car A is 2" wider than car B at that point. If body line of car A was designed to taper toward the rear wheel arches and the body line of car B simply went straight back without tapering, then car B may have the same or larger interior width of car A despite being 2" narrower at the widest point.
