Costly and dumb - might be ok in winter but in summer - depriving radiator of that much airflow - how long will head gasket last....

I appreciate the craftsmanship and work behind it, but keep in mind there is a reason BMW chose to increase the size of the grill. Putting a large blocker in front of it is probably not the best of ideas. I would advise caution with this approach.

It would take quite a bit of data collection to know if it's harmful or not, but I generally agree. Just because one "famous" tuner thinks it's a good idea does not make it one. Thermodynamics doesn't care what your resume says.
