Lets Talk Radar

What device are you running with and why, also is it stealth mode or windshield. Just purchased the uniden R3

Have always used Valentine 1 for the last 12 years or so, but the V1 went crazy in the M5, i guess from all the laser. So just switched to the Escort Max 360c, so far so good.

V1 all the way for me, since they came out. J, you only needed to put black electrical tape over the gesture control laser, in order to silence it. Unless you insist on using the gesture.

Ohhhhh, wow thanks! Where can i find the opening for gesture control? I assuned all the false alerts were coming from outside the car, ie the safety and Collison system.

It's right in-between the two dome lights above your head.

Passport 9500 in mirror and behind cup holders. If you switch it off and close the drink tray you can not see the install.

If you don't care for gesture control, (i don't), I put a small piece of black electrical tape over the gesture control emitter, and V1 is back to normal.

I think the wireless charger is one of the nicer convenience features. It may be slow but it is so easy to drop it off on the mat and get a little extra charge. Especially for shorter trips, I don't have to fiddle with cords.

As for the radar install, it looks nice and clean. Is that detection only or does it have jamming too?

You mind sharing what your all-in price was for that setup?

Since I lease the car, on the fence about building in a radar. However, If I do, you can't beat the V1. It's all about the arrows, which points to the "bogies" and counter to tell you number of them. Most radars just alert you to a signal, V1 tells you where it's coming from and how many. It has saved my ass many a time, especially when you are being stalked behind, from a "Smokey" in motion.
