The E63S has left the building!! BMW M #9 for me is HERE!! w/continued feedback/pics

Well it was bound to happen after I took the 2 day test run. I ended up getting an FE for very very very favorable deal thru a BMW Corporate connect. Since I already posted pretty specific thoughts about the E63S (2018) vs this, I wont re post but can link below.

This is my 9th M and Im very proud to be back. I feel like Im a broken record going to AMG then M then AMG and so on but the brands both have done me right over the years (sans the CL65 which I did not like much) and I think my favorite still, based on time of entry, was the 2002 E39 M5 which was my first M. Along the way I have also had:

E46 M3
E63 M6
E92 M3
F10 M5 (13)
F13 M6
F10 M5 (16)
F82 M4

And now this machine, I know the color is not for all and even I had taken some time to like it but the paint has grown on me and I enjoy the lighter interior (Smoke White) and the factory bits that would now only come with the CE (Black accents, M Sport Exhaust). I do have, if you can actually notice, H&R springs on it too. H&R claims 1.2 inches in height reduction square but I have a tough time believing it, especially in the rear but this was taken right after the drop so maybe some settling will occur. The ride quality change is negligible with this drop and Im ok because of that. I still might try the KW's but I hear they are bouncy. I have the spacers coming (off my Benz) but I need different bolts than what the E63S uses.

Here is the link to my comparison thoughts:

And some cell phone shots with the H&R drop and 30% tint:

And my departed E63S:

Most articles say only 50 FE are in the US and some have said there are 100. Do you know which number is more accurate?

I gotta say, that was a badass looking E63s you had there. Love the color though on the F90 FE, it has actually been one of my favorite colors released.

Id be a guessing man but think 50 is probably right on... sadly they are not selling as the color is so "kobe bryant" as in love or hate.

But thats probably one of the reasons why I was able to get this car on the ground. The E63S Edition 1 was all but sold out when I got mine in Nov of 17.

I've seen a FE on the road and color looks great in the flesh. Interior is stunning on the FE too. I think with the spacers and a couple of days of the HRs settling down your drop will be plenty low.

Well...

That exhaust note on the E63S is not replicable. Also I actually like a more taut, less body roll ride and the E63S had that. The tradeoff was the comfort factor which the M owns. But on the same roads at same higher speeds, the E was more planted.

Of course this car is new and I was slowly getting bored of the E so I favor the M.

Let me add:

My E63S had a beta tune from Nov of 2017- the gains were smaller than whats out there now from OE, Eurocharged, Renntech, etc. And while it was a rip roaring car, my seat of the pants says this F90, stock, is just as fast as the tuned E63S (Beta mild tune is what Ill call it).

Haha Vic I knew it was coming. Let me know if your in LA anytime soon we can get an EX 63s now F90 group going.

BTW I was able to drive around pebble beach the new AMG GT Sedan and was very disappointed. Thought that would replace the F90 but now nothing else in sight that I can see daily driving other than the Taycan.

I down for a meet LOL....

Once I heard the GT Sedan was in Panny pricing; I realized that there are several options that can out perform it and come in much less. I still see too much Panamera/CLS in the car or aka PanaLS.

Vic, car looks great! Congrats.

I agree the drop seems less than 1.2" but it should settle lower. I just ordered a set for my incoming 19' M5 Comp.

How many fingers can you fit between tire and fender? A little difficult to tell in the pix.

Congrats!! Looks amazing

I came from a RS7 with APR, Akra, Roc euro intakes and I feel the same as far as speed goes in this F90. No doubt in my mind this will be ridiculously fast once a proper tune is out with along with other mods. The main thing it needs IMO is a proper exhaust.

Also if you can keep me updated on how your springs settle in and impact the ride, I'd appreciate it. Still debating between the HR vs the KW kit at the moment.

Yeah pricing is one thing but you can't see out of the thing with the blind spots. Might as well not out that rear window. I also would not buy it for those fake side vents alone.

131 have been built (so far) for the USA/Canada market.

33 of these are tagged for Canada, the other 98 are not tagged as anything other than USA/Canada.

I dont have sausage fingers but I'd guess if perpendicular to the fender and tire maybe 1 finger.

I have only driven the car a few miles (maybe 30) since the drop so I think tomorrow Ill take some more pics and advise.

Love the color! Is that a black replacement for the front reflector? Standard on FE?
