What's up guys ! Currently have my 2013 E92 N55 335xi in the shop to get a JB4, Charge Pipe, FMIC and Downpipes installed. Very excited just wanted to ask a question before I get it back. After it's all said and done and I start it up what should I except ? I read that I will get a CEL code is that true ? I purchased the Bluetooth version of JB4 can I delete codes on the app ? Also what map would be best I've read 2 is the best for those mods ? Any other suggestions after just getting it back would be great too !

Main thing i'd suggest is to replace spark plugs along with the JB4 install just to make sure you don't misfire all over the place.

Other than that I'd enjoy the car, and see if you feel the need more power in the future

Just select map1, the default JB4 map, and enjoy! Then when bored you can record a JB4 log, see how its running, etc.

Fine tune the user settings through the steering wheel to the settings you like. Make sure it's in 4/3 and you're good to go!

That's one thing I've been worrying about is the spark plugs I'm gonna see how they do stock right now hopefully won't have any issues

I was gonna start with map 1 then go to map 2 after the car got warmed up a little because that's what I read was good for my mods was map 2 am I wrong ?

4/3 is the user adjustment for the stock dme map, use the steering wheel controls to get to menu 4 by pressing the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel then use the right side to change the rpm. The speedo on the left is the first number 4 is 40mph, the number on the right 3, is 3k rpm on the tach.

I purchased the Bluetooth kit so can't all this be done on the app as well ?

Unfortunately not, the in dash controls are set to those particularly, bluetooth is good for logging and changing maps/making custom map 6's. Is your Jb4 new or used?

So now you got me confused what exactly is 4/3 doing for me by going to those settings ? I was under the impression that I'd just get it hooked up run some diagnostics choose map 1,2,5 and away I go lol it's brand new

Yours is new so don't worry about it, you have the default settings loaded. Most people who have JB4 already have them stacked with other software/settings tweaked and when they sell them they don't bother to revert stuff back to stock. For your case just plug in and play and you're set to go!

It sounds like you need to do some more research on the JB4. Map 1 vs map 2 is really an octane thing. On 92 octane with a downpipe and intercooler map 2 was too aggressive for me. If you want to run map 2 then log map 1 and post it on N54tech for review. They moved their support section to the top of the N55 section.

Ok will do that I talked to a tech at BMS and he said Map 2 or 5 would be best for my mods I have 93 octane here in NY
