After about 120mph I get the low A/F symbol and have to restart the car. Is this a lpfp issue..?

Could be lpfp or hpfp. Try reading codes, these cars usually tell you exactly what's wrong with it.

any suggestions on code reading other than the basics jb4 and mhd ?

You can buy a reader for like $20 or you could use mhd or another software which can read BMW specific codes which is nice. If you own a BMW it's an essential tool. Most auto parts stores will also scan your car for free.
