MCB F10 to Donnington F90
After an extensive search over the last 2 months I finally found a car that checked all of the boxes for me, well aside from the tires as it came with Pirellis. Oh well. The dealer is 2 hours from my house so I had some fun with my MCB F10 M5 on the way down to the point that I was almost second guessing my decision. Well needless to say I went through with it and traded it on a Donnington Gray/Silverstone F90 and could not be happier. The technology in the car is unreal and even though I have not pushed it too hard I can tell it is an absolute beast. More reviews to follow. Off to drive.
my apologies for the crappy pics. |

I had a MCB F10 M5 and am also considering DG. However, I am leaning to ordering Argon interior.

Not enough seat time to get into much detail but overall feels like a substantial step forward. A few quick points:
Pleased w tranny although miss some of the nuances of the DCT. The tech is a huge leap forward, camera system I cannot wrap my mind around how it does what it does and seats couldn’t be better for me. While I was on the fence between Marina Bay Blue and Donnington and actually a last minute Nardo Grey at a local dealer (still available by the way) I could not be happier with the Donnington. Even better in person. I’ll report back after the weekend. |

I am looking at doing exactly the same. I am on my 2nd F10 MCB M5 and I absolutely love the color. Current lease ends April 2019 and I cannot wait for the F10 AWD feature. I am torn between getting what would be my 3rd Blue M5 with the MBB or the DG. Either way I will be getting the black interior as my children do enough damage as it is in the back.
I get so many compliments on the blue color and IMO, a Blue ///M car is so distinctive. I always felt that Silver blends into the crowd too much but everyone on this Forum can't stop praising the DG color. I've only seen the color online, never in person so it's hard to really get a feel for what it's like. The DG is an exclusive ///M color but is it different enough to stick out amongst all the Silver MB AMG's and Audi S's around here?? What swayed your decision? |

DG is great for staying stealthy. Most cars are grayscale these days, so DG just blends in. It's also fairly good at hiding dirt and very good at hiding minor paint damage. These are important practical factors, but from a visual perspective, not sure what the excitement is about with this light gray color.
MBB is beautiful, although I personally prefer lighter blues such as Porsche Sapphire Blue and BMW MCB. The main problem with these gorgeous blues is that they draw unwanted attention to the car, which is not a good thing in public, particularly when it's a $120K car. For example. It feels like there's a higher risk of vandalism with eye-popping colors, which makes the ownership experience more stressful. |
