Blown boost hose...

Driving home yesterday...gave it a healthy acceleration pulling out on a busy road. Heard a loud "pop", lost power and the engine sounded off. Check engine light came on then it went into Reduced Engine Power Mode. Took it to my indy mechanic around 5pm and he said I had blown a turbo pressure hose. I've searched the website and can't find many details on this. Anyone have information or a diagram? Thanks!

It's a easy 40min job for an noob mechanic. Just get a metal charge pipe the OEM one is garbage.

It's the pipe located underneath the air box that connects the intercooler outlet to the throttle body. Takes 30 minutes max to replace. Buy a metal Evolution Racewerks or VRSF one so it doesn't happen again.

It's the charge pipe, let us know if you need any further help. The stock one is plastic is prone to failre, most upgrade to aluminum to avoid future failures as it will happen again. This is a flaw in most turbocharged BMW's, even on today's newer cars.
