M2 Competition Sunset Orange Pictures

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I went up to BMW Canada to see if they had the M2 Competition. I wanted to see what it looked like compared to my 2016 M2. They didn't have the HS M2 Competition that was at the BMW driving event a couple of weeks ago but they did have a new M2 Competition in Sunset Orange.

I wasn't a huge fan of the new bumper and grille design when a saw the pics of the M2 Competition but it actually looks much better in person. I still really dislike the new muffler design going down so low below the rear bumper. It is huge. Overall the new design of the car is still very sporty looking but I still prefer the design of my M2.

Sunset Orange looks much better in bright sunlight. I had seen the color before on a 3 Series but it was a cloudy day and it didn't look good. The color definitely needs sunshine to brighten it up but it still isn't bright enough, especially when you compare it to Valencia Orange, which looks way better IMO. It's too bad BMW didn't choose a really great sports car color like Laguna Seca Blue.

Here are some pics. The first set of pictures were taken with my iPhone X and the ones starting with the interior were taken with my digital camera.

I don't like the colour. I wanted a bright colour. Sakhir is way nicer.

but that's only MY opinion

Thanks for the pics! Sunset Orange is a nice color but unfortunately not my cup of tea. Also, that muffler does not belong to this car : After seeing couple different Canadian spec cars, I'm more convinced that BMW is using the same muffler for both EU spec and NA spec cars (unlike what's stated in a different thread). I think NA spec cars have the same muffler but without the particulate filter.

Edit: Also, orange stitching looks much better than blue stitching IMO.

Sunset orange looks close to Sedona red metallic from the 1er.

Yep,it has a rusty look to it,even in the sunlight.Anyone considering the color should definitely see it before they order the car. There is no way i could drive a car in this color.

What did you think of the stitching and perforated parts of the seat in orange? Can you describe the orange? From the pics it looks a bit like reddish orange which I like.

Yes,it’s a bright orange color.Looks really good.Much better than the exterior color.I wouldn’t describe it as being reddish though. It is a true orange color, just quite bright. It would look great with HS if that is what you are going to order.

I think we need to start a LBB vs HS poll. Cos I am getting one of those.

I've had a BSM for 11+ years and just want a change. AW doesn't cut it for me and SO is SOL at this point it seems

They look pretty good but I still prefer the 437M wheels. These wheels are a little busy looking IMO.They should have just designed an actual E46 M3 CSL styled wheel.

Thanks for the pics - allows us a better look.

For what it’s worth, I’d like to see pics of the M2 muffler from the same angles. There have been pics that circulated around here taken from angles where it seems like a knee or elbow was on the ground

Thanks for the pics. That color is quite ugly in those photos; if that's what it looks like IRL, I'm 100% sure I won't be getting this color. Not even the M2 can make this color look good. Really wish they offered a true red; it would suit this smaller car so well.

The current M2 muffler is up much higher and not nearly as big.It really isn't very noticeable. Here is an old lower pic of my M2 showing the muffler.

I wish the exhaust tips were round like OG M2 and gunmetal instead of gloss black. Making the tips black just makes the muffler stand out more.
