BMS E Series N55 Intake Coupler - New Product!

Quote:
Hey guys,

By popular demand we've released a new molded silicon intake coupler to replace the factory accordion pipe used with both factory and BMS intakes. The replacement is 5 layers, thicker and more rigid than stock, and most importantly longer to allow better clamping. Especially in situations where a PI spacer has been added spacing the intake over. This coupler will eliminate the factory coupler collapsing under boost, popping out ruining a run, etc.

I didn't see it on your website. When will this be available. BTW, I agree with the fitment issue when a PI spacer has been installed.

Will a leak at this point have any affect on air metering?

From a new " product" prospective i think more work needs to be done to call it a product to be quite honest. BMW has a ribbon type coupler there for a reason. The coupler has to have the ability to compress. I dont know maybe i am missing something not sure..

Yes its not cheap plastic as OEM but is it a perfect solution that i dont know

I find my stock connector needing occasional re-seating and tightening.

Order placed.

Would this be a beneficial upgrade on stock turbo on stock fueling?

This thing goes on the atmospheric side of the system: turbo and PSI are irrelevant.

I always found that the BMS filter never quite lined up like the factory filter box and there was always tension on the factory accordion coupler.

wouldnt a bigger turbo or more flow rate demand from the turbo causes the stock to collapse?

Stock only collapses at max PS2 psi or when you have PI stretching the stock coupler.

You can run it with the stock turbo but the performance benefit is really for those with larger turbos where the stock piece can collapse. But if stock turbo doing an intake anyway why not? It's not exactly an expensive part and looks nice under the hood.

Mike, please give me a link, and I shall buy. I have zero intent on going through ten pages on your website to find this thing. Either post it, or make it searchable.
