Catted DP on xi with no CEL - best options?
Hey all,
Looking for the best catted downpipe that won’t throw a CEL, 2011 E90 N55 xi. I have Dinan stage 3 software in it so programming out O2 codes isn’t an option. After some research it seems like Wagner or AR catted would be best, anyone have experience or know of warranties that would help me decide what to choose? Thanks! |

VRSF is life time warranty. Wagner is 2 year warranty. AR is not explicitly mentioned. |

Not sure where you are in the world but are their any other things you need to consider in order to get through a regular check?
Some aftermarket catted DPs are hi flow which usually means a different cpi. It may not generate a cel but may impact other things which you may then need to address. How the DP looks may also need considering. For example, in some places, one of the checks is a visible inspection to see if the DP cat can be seen. As long as it looks like it has a cat, it passes that part, even if it's a c'less DP Last edited by keyap; 05-24-2018 at 04:12 PM.. |

dleccord, I'll answer for him. Don't waste your money on the Dinan. Go with MHD for whatever hardware you currently have and eventually will aspire to. Less money, more power. And safe. Before you ask, my opinion is valid as I have been through the Dinan power upgrades (stage 2, then 3) as I wanted to spare my CPO.

Is he really going to gain power from adding a catted downpipe with a Dinan tune?? Doesn't seem like it would be worth the $$$.

There's no point running an aftermarket dp with a Dinan tune

You can run a stage 3 Dinan tune without an oil cooler. People do it all the time. I had mine installed at the dealer. Dinan has dropped the price on their software by quite a bit sometime over the course of the last year.
