New BMW M2 Competition photos released

I found some new BMW M2 Competition photos, which were released on Facebook a few hours ago...

You can clearly see that the new color has a tendency of becoming a color like an undercoat which you put on anything before applying your final paint color.

It is so annoying that HS is so freaking boring sometimes. I am really only taking it as a great undercoat for a future wrap, because it is plain boring under normal sunlight.

Thanks for the new pictures MR.! I agree 100% and my plan is exactly the same. Taking it as undercoat for my wrap

Absolutely love this colour, this has made my decision easy! I was toying with Sunburst Orange Metallic, but Hockenheim Silver is definitely the choice for me!

It looks more "light blue" on those pictures compared to the pictures of the press release where HS was almost white...

Hockenheim Silver looks fantastic...like a lighter version of Lime Rock Grey.

That could be attributed to the reflection of the blue M5 being next to it.

Nice, but it looks to much like primer. Just like what the OP suggested.

In person the metallic will pop. This isn't like Audi Arrow or Nardo grey(non-metallic paint colors).

When you saw it in person, was it only in the studio or did you get to see it outside as well?

This is outside the exhibition centre in Beijing. Auto China is just days away.

Lol we are all well aware of that.... Doesn't make the color less boring in real light situation. 😉

MR
this is a personal problem.

I can absolutely say that because I agree with you. I also think this is a boring, ugly color. However.. I do understand that MANY people like some of these " cement" / primer color grays.

Some people foam at the mouth over Audi " Nardo grey" and Ferrari " Telesto Grigio" paint. I think it looks horrible. Again.. a personal problem ..

Personally.. the car in the photos.. when viewed from the side with the wheels.. looks like a 228 with OEM (not OE upgrade) wheels to me..

These photos do give one the full impression of the fact that there are three separate radiators involved for cooling..
It also shows how absolutely ugly and horrid the BMW active driving assistant radar/lidar is with how much space it takes up in the front lower air valance.

I do not like that there is no distinction between the kidney grilles on the M2 Comp.. The M5 grille in black would look better than what is on the M2 Comp.

Took the words right out of my mouth primer with a layer clear coat! To each their own, I think it looks horrible in that color.

it's like BMW tried to make a silver car appear a very dull gray. I don't even consider it to be SILVER at all.

Haven't had a black car in years. That's about to change.

P.S. Whomever did away with MG should be shot.
