Presentation and more ... :)
hi everyone,
First, it's sorta a come back for me. I used to be active on the E90post under 'benoitch' but did not have the same email anymore. Anyways, hi again I still have my E90 330 from 2006. But I am in the process to change it. Looking into an F10 2014 528 xDrive or an F30 2014 335 xDrive. Which means I might have some questions down the road for you all. But one thing to start slow . My sales guy mentioned that an iPhone connected in the center console USB port using a standard USB cable does not work 100% (controlled through iDrive and sound through the sound system) in a 2014 F30 regardless of package. Is any of you aware of this, can confirm or better yet contradict ? I have tested it in the 528 F10 and it worked flawlessly. Did not have the chance to test it in an F30 yet. Thanks for any feedback |

My 2012 F30 has navigation, but was not optioned with extended Bluetooth.
I had a BMW team in Los Angeles code my car to enable Bluetooth audio and the USB port in my center console; hardware was there, but it was disabled by BMW unless the price was paid. I use(d) Apple Music on my iPhone 6S, 7, and X. It is flawless streaming music over Bluetooth or USB->lightning when using the media stored to my device. However, it does occasionally lose the data for the song playing and displays the error attached *only when using an Apple Music station*.This does not affect audio; it still streams to the vehicle as it should.

It does align with what the sales guys told me : having to buy the BMW Y-Cable. I was a bit surprised actually. Since most low end cars do support this out of the box. The saler confirmed they do receive quite a feux complaints about this.
A pity as it works flawlessly in the F10. |

I have no issues with plugging my iPhone in via centre console USB cable and using it with the iDrive system in my car. Not sure how this may vary for others...
