You should start a thread of all the things you intend to code. I'd be interested...

First we have to see what is able to be coded. Some things are different between models. A couple of things that were coded on my F32 I was not able to have coded on my prior E92.

But these were what I had coded on my F32:

One thing I wanted but the coder couldn't do it, was changing the Triple Turn Signal from 3 to 5 blinks. I'm hoping that can be done on the G01.

Key fob to open/close windows and sunroof
Key fob to open/close mirrors (must have motorized mirrors option)
Custom setting of mirrors to close (instant, 1 second or 2 seconds)
Remove windows safety (windows continue to roll up when door is open
DVD in motion (CIC and NBT equipped)
Legal disclaimers disabled
Parking disclaimers disabled
Allow Parking cameras to work at any speed
RDC safety enabled (tire temperature and psi shown in I-drive screen)
HUD to show turn signal
HUD to show Entertainment list
HUD to show Telephone list
Change Startup screen of I-drive ( change from BMW connected to M performance)
Digital speedo readout in gauge cluster

Me too. But no big deal. I'll just have that coded when I have other things coded.

On my previous X3 I had #1 and #2 plus the moonroof coded as well as DVD video playback while car in motion (which I never used and not sure why I got it). I also had the ability to open and close the hatch with the key fob, too. If I were to code my new X3 again, it would probably be for only those minor things.

#22 reminded me that headlight washers are no longer an option.

I am not sure that we are getting a DVD player anymore. The BMW USA site refers to "Anti-theft AM/FM in-dash stereo CD/MP3 player with Radio Data System (RDS)"
Has anyone tried a DVD in theirs?

Word is that dealers can no longer code that. You'll have to get a third party to do it.

Hmmm.. I thought I recalled that they never wrote "DVD" in the description in the past for whatever reason despite it being capable. I hope that is still available. I don't use it often but the few times I've had, it was invaluable.

I've never had a dealer code my cars. Always a third party. Now I have the Bimmercode app. on my phone, so I think I can do it all myself. I'm not sure.

DVD vs CD

I checked with my dealer and was advised and there is no DVD option. CD is only available with navigation and that is to enable us to copy music to the internal storage. All updates to maps will be done wirelessly, not via a disc.

The vehicle that I drove only had a CD/MP3 player.

I hope this is not right. I checked the online manual using a 2018 x30i VIN and it seems to talk about video DVDs:

General information
Video files and video DVDs can be played. Sound is played back through the vehicle loudspeakers.
Settings are stored for the driver profile currently used.
The video image on the Control Display is switched off when a country-dependent speed is exceeded.
The following video sources are available.
Video DVD.
USB storage device.

And then it goes on to explain how to use the DVD player and settings. Even though I don't use it much, it is nice to have that option when you are waiting you are waiting for someone for a while.

Looking at a review for the M40i, there indeed appears to be support for DVD. I think a lot of CAs are still learning what the 2018 X3s have and have not.

7, 10, 24, 27, 28, 29 would be on my list. I would also like to be able to close the hatch from the key fob and from the foot well button.

I wonder if we can get the sun visors that are devoid of weasel words. Those warning stickers are ugly and if you are not smart enough to know to put your spawn in the back seat or turn off the airbag on the passenger side you do not have the IQ to drive.

Yes. A DVD will play in the car on the Control Display as long as the car is not moving.
