Steering column serious clunk
So after numerous visits to separate dealers, non seem to want to fix my issue under warranty. The issue is that when steering at low speeds/reverse into parking spaces I get a pretty loud clunk, as if something has wound up and is being twanged back into place - I can also feel a slight amount of vibration through the steering wheel.
So last weekend I stripped the under plates from my car and had someone wiggle the steering wheel to see if I could investigate it myself - this is the outcome: https://streamable.com/anv6t I have heard a few stories about the power steering adjuster fixing similar issues, and whilst I could feel the clunk vibration when touching the adjuster I personally felt like I could visually hear the noise coming from the round box that the steering shaft feeds into. Right now I don't have access to the tool to adjust the adjuster so I can't confirm if that would fix it. What's everyone else's views on this? BMW keep passing it off as normal but they go quiet whenever I ask them to compare it to another car/approved used car on their lot. Should I pursue this through BMW rather than the dealer or live with it?

I had the exact same issue with my 2015 335ix that I traded. Very reproducible with the wheel turned and front wheels going over a mild bump. My new 2017 340ix does not have the issue.

Thing is no dealer wants to even take a shot at opening up the column to look for issues, the last one even acknowledged that there is a noise and that other cars on their lot don't make the same noise, however as they're sure it's "safe" they see no reason to work on it

There was apparently some play in in the anti sway bar which they replaced, but I think they did it purely to make it look like they were attempting to do something (the first dealership after multiple visits) as they knew I wasn't happy.

I have the same knock noise while doing a left turn (mine is RHD) on uneven surface. Had a look at this thread from other forum. Haven't got time to try it out yet, anyone here tried out that fix? would like to hear the comment from you guys, cheers
