2014 328i Standard Hi-Fi (US)

Couple of questions on the Earthquake SWS-8 underseat subwoofers.

1. Do I get 4ohm or 2ohm?

2. Installation - All the threads on this are years old and it doesn't look like Technic has posted here since 2015.... is there any PNP harnesses available now a days? Do most people just cut and solder the factory wires right to the speakers?

3. Adaptor rings - Do I need them so they fit correctly in the stock enclosure or are they just for ease of installation?

Not replacing the factory amp...just doing the subs. I know it's not the "best" way but it's what I'm doing.
Thanks

I wouldn't assume that they'll work any better than the stock woofers. They won't go any lower, the size of the enclosures is the limiting factor there. They might go louder, if they have significantly longer excursion than the stock woofers, but if there's any definitive data that confirms that I can't find it. Even if they do have longer excursion it won't matter without more power pushing them. If you want to get a real improvement in the low end adding a trunk sub is the best bet.

So I've been able to answer my own questions since finding https://technicpnp.com

I'll go with the 2 ohm and maybe later upgrade to the JL 600/6v2 if I feel like I need it.
