Looking for Bay Area shop to install m perf diffuser

I posted this in the regional forum for CA but looks like that forum is really quiet and anyone who is active there is in SoCal.

I got the M perf diffuser for my M240 and I need to find a shop to do the install and also adjust the stock exhaust tips a bit so they aren't recessed inside the diffuser (I did not get the M perf exhaust). Would a body shop do this for me or should I go to a muffler/exhaust shop? Thanks!

The diff isn't that difficult to install (I did it). Tons of stuff on Youtube. If not, check a body shop. The hourly wage should be less and they will have the new one on within an hour.

I don't have a garage or I'd love to do it myself. The other issue is the matter of the pipes being extended, I have no idea what's going to be needed to do that.

Why don't you install the diffuser yourself and then you can determine how much you want the tips adjusted by and then have a muffler shop do that work. You don't need a garage or shop to do the diffuser, it is one socket from what I remember...

You don't even need a jack to install the diffuser, it's high enough that you can get under without one. Takes like 25 mins if you've never done it before

Same, installed diffuser without a lift or jack. Some like the tips recessed, others do not. I felt they looked fine in a bit, there's an extension kit that BMW provides that requires you to cut the pipes a bit. Let me know if you need it, I never used it.

I don't have a garage or I'd totally do the diffuser myself. But in any case, I'd still need a muffler shop to come up with some custom solution for the tips unless the stock tips can slide that much further out.

What you need to do is READ the previous post. Nothing custom is needed. BMW makes a kit you remove tips install extenders reinstall tips. No muffler shop or custom anything is needed.

The intermediate pipes (extenders) are for adding the m performance tips, I have just the stock tips. And also, as the previous post says it requires some cutting and again, without a garage that's not really possible.

It's for adding either tips, but primarily for the stock tips as the cf tips can be adjusted whereas the stock tips lock in. The m diffuser protrudes more than the stock diffuser, hence the extension kit.

When you remove the diffuser there's more than enough room to use a pipe cutter. You're cutting a couple inches off at most.

Feel free to take the work to a shop, the comments above are simply indicating that it's not a necessity, and this is all from people who have done this install. Not having a garage doesn't hinder any of the installation, and it'll save you $$$ for a 45 min DIY job.

I?m not going to argue with you but you?re simply misinformed. Your dealer can do all of this for you in under an hour. Or any reputable indie mechanic or even body shop could do the same. With no modifications - permanent or otherwise - necessary to any part of the exhaust system or car.
