Oil change life
My 328D (N47) currently has 76k miles on it and i did an oil change yesterday.
The car prior to the oil change had 2800 miles left on the oil life, I like to do before so i changed it. After all said and done i reset my oil life and it said 9000 miles to next change. Now I'm not sure if don't remember last time or maybe because i have higher mileage but i swore last time i changed my oil it said 10000 miles to next after i reset it. Anyone chime in on this, could be just a simply forget but wanted to make sure. Thanks! |

Dont see why oil would be a contributing factor, but I used the manufacturers recommendation. Castrol Edge Full Synthetic oil LL-04 (5w-30)

Mine has been before and still continues to adjust dependent on style of driving, distance, etc. When i was doing highway miles mainly it was pretty close to 10K intervals, but since i moved and been doing more stop/go, the distance until remaining oil change decreased.

My guess would be that the car is factoring in the profile of how the car is driven (not to say you are driving the car hard or anything, just the conditions the car has logged.)
I'll have to watch for the next time I start the car to see if it brings up the next oil change. Good on you for changing the oil early! |

It will always reset to 10k miles. But, over those subsequent 10k miles it may adjust the service interval as it sees fit. Write down your mileage now and when it asks for an oil change it may not be 10k miles from now...
