So I just stopped by a dealer, and here is what they calculated for me...
$7000 down and the monthly is crazy high!
I did try to build the 2017 X3, then made its MSRP rise up to $58,000, and the monthly was no more than $580 (same down pay)...
I love this car, why so hard to get in
Any recommendation for a dealer in the area of LA?? This one is Nick Alexander BMW...

The 2018s have a 59% residual, which is not great. The 2017s have a 64%. That means at $58k that if you get a 2017 they more or less throw in $2500 compared to the 2018 deal. They offset this lower residual a bit for existing X3 leasers who want to switch to a new 2018 by giving them a $1500 credit currently.

If you want a 2018 I'd suggest waiting a few months until they get rid of some 2017s and the residuals will probably start to go back up. That, or consider purchasing it. If you can get a low interest 7 yr loan, you can trade it in after three years and that's essentially the same as a lease (there is more risk but you also save on the acquisition fee of a lease). The lease isn't really that great right now.

I also don't see any mention of what discount they're giving you off the MSRP or what money factor you are getting. I've looked at these and if you shop around you should be able to get 3-5% off without much trouble.

Something is wrong with those numbers. Even throwing in an acquisition fee and MACO on top of MSRP, .00151 money factor, and the 59% residual with $7k down I get under $700 a month, tax included ($675 or so).

I see. So now I am planning to talk to 2-3 more dealers. The salesman today said that the price can only be the MSRP, or maybe $1000 off, because it is all new generation
After reading your comment, I think $700+ monthly is kind of BS....
I understand that the price would be better if I can wait a few months. However, my current lease is gonna end in 3 months and... I really love the new X3, can't wait to jump in

I ordered an X3 M40i and my dealer is giving me $100 over invoice (their doc fee is a whopping $495 so not as good as it seems). I am still concerned, however, that the lease residual is going to create a payment I won't like. My dealer is also telling me that the lease numbers are not out so he can't get me a price.

My current lease is an X5 with an MSRP about $3200 more than the X3 I configured. I can't see myself staying in the X3 deal if the new payment is more.

I don't lease so I'm not sure about where your lease payment should be. However I just ordered a 2018 x3 30i and I was able to get $600 invoice prior to any incentives. I had one dealer pull the same nonsense where they said "it's a new car so I can only really go $500-1000 below MSRP". Needless to say I walked out and didn't buy my car from them.

I just ordered an '18 X3 30i for my wife. Total MSRP was 56,120. No money down (NEVER! If you get T-boned and car is totalled when you pull out of the lot, you get ZERO back -- including any pre-paid sales tax). Anyhow, off my soap box.

No money down, no prepaid sales tax, 10k/year, 36 month lease. $752.16/month inc. 8.125% sales tax. Actually less than the 2015 X3 lease by about $7/month for more car which is hard to believe. I just pay first month's payment and DMV fees and leave. Production number and status 112 as of today... told week 42 build.

BMW of the Hudson Valley in Poughkeepsie (Michael Bueti). Orange County BMW in Harriman is also very aggressive in their pricing.
