Volume resetting to zero?

So I've had my f31 a week now (2017, iDrive 6) and for some reason when I park and shut off the radio, the next time I get back in my car the volume will sometimes be at zero. For instance, this morning I was listening to an Amazon Music song with CarPlay, I parked at my daughter's daycare, turned off the stereo, and shut off the car. I got back in 10 minutes later, turned on a sat. radio station, and the volume was completely off. Is this a coding thing that I may have goofed up? I was setting some options with my buddy's copy of BimmerCode last week.

I believe, that if you shut off the volume and turn the car off then it remembers "last settings" in this circumstance the volume was off and when you restarted it in memory it was "off". It remembers the last setting of radio volume, radio station, temperature, mirrors & seats settings etc, I have encountered sometimes that if the car is off for a long time (a week) it doesn't remember stuff well. I believe the owners manual describes these features

That's definetly not it, because all I'm doing is essentially shutting the car off and getting back in. Not even turning the volume down in he process.

It probably has something to do with your shutting off the stereo. There's no need to do so, when you lock the car it will shut off anyway. I never do the hit-the-button-twice routine when stopping the engine. I hit it once. After I get out of the car the sound of the radio reminds me to lock the car.

Could be it. This morning I got in and put a song on, and the volume was fine. I'll have to experiment I guess!

The stereo is coded to maintain volume up to 25%. So, if you shutdown with it at 60%, it will be at 25% when start car again. But, if you shutdown with it off, then it will still be off. That target volume can be adjusted.
