Any thoughts on these direct replacement subs? Not looking to beat the block down but I would like to have better quality bass and a little more output. Anyone done this on their f30?

Amp first, the stock speakers aren't as bad as you think, just deeply under-powered (assuming you have the HiFi sound). If you want to do something simple and cost-effective, you will get more output and better bass with the Bimmertech amp/dsp.

The primary limiting factors on the stock subs are the size of the enclosures and the power of the amp. Changing the drivers will have a minimal effect, if any, unless you at least double the power of the amp. If you really crave bass there's no substitute for a powered sub in the trunk.
