Updated car sim card
Does the car sim card ever get updated or has anyone had it replaced? on a mobile phone when people upgrade they get new sim cards in the box & get there number swapped over.

TCB modules use USIM so they're actually programmed onto the board itself. There's no physical SIM card.
In the case where your TCU needs to be replaced, they usually replace the whole module.

Agree. the whole TCU/TCB module gets replaced but BMW servers need to be notified and appropriate IMEI numbers adopted to your VIN (hence no 2nd hand options). its very expensive; in Europe ~400euros.
