Next Audio Track???

Is there no next track button on the steering wheel? That seems odd to me.

There is, it is located on the scroll on the right side of the wheel next to your volume control. Depress the scroll and select the song via your dash display.

That I'm aware of. I'm talking a button that uses just one click. My previous BMW had it on the left side of the wheel. I shouldn't have to take my eyes off the road to change songs.

As I stated earlier I'm aware of that. That involves looking down at a 2" square. Just like the volume buttons I should be able to skip through songs without taking my eyes off the road. First world problems

There's really no need to look down as it isn't a continuous scroll where it keeps looping through all the selections. Just scroll down and click. No need to worry about how much down scroll you do.

Yes, no reason to scroll down, really the only issue is it's an extra click, but it doesn't require being looked at to roll it down once, then click once. I don't look at it.

why do you need to look down to feel one roll down and then press it in?

You can also leave the idrive wheel on next track and play whack-a-mole to change it like I do sometimes too

Ya I tried the wheel a bit more tonight and I guess it's not too bad. Still not as good as the left side arrows I used to have. Wanna skip ahead 3 tracks, tap tap tap. Anyway thanks.

I wonder if you can tell the voice command to change it for you? One thing that kind of bothered me was a pause button. The only way I stop the music is either go into a different mode, press pause on my phone or turn the music down.

You can press the volume knob straight in to mute.....

Tap tap tap works, depending on what source you are on. For Sat radio, the stations are on the dash so you would scroll down three times and press in. For sources like pandora/apple music, scrolling down goes to the next arrow, then you would have to press three times like you said. CDs will show you the name (I think CDs will, I know for sure that the ones I ripped to the hard drive do this).

Honestly I said mute because it shows a speaker with a line through it. I don't know if that means it has also paused. Let us know!

Come to think about it I recall using the mute and seeing the line but don't remember if it paused. I hope the BMW GENIUS is wrong because I called them awhile back and was told there was no PAUSE button for the music!

Yes it does. If you are playing audio via USB or Bluetooth, regardless of the app being used, when you press the volume knob it doesn't mute the audio, it just pauses the audio stream.

If it's the FM radio or satellite radio then it'll mute and not pause.

Although if you have the satellite radio set to record it'll actually pause it for you. You can pick up where you left off as long as you don't change the station or shut off the car.

If you scroll once and click, you have about 2-3 seconds to click again without scrolling, so you can tap tap tap.
