Weather gone from iDrive?

Spent 8 months driving around with split screen enabled on iDrive, and 'weather' selected for the right panel. A couple of days ago all of the sudden it reverts back to basic 'compass' on the right panel, and 'weather' is no longer a selectable option for split screen. WTF OVER?!

I had that happen to me too last week. Weather just disappeared from the connected drive tile I had it on, and from the apps list.

A couple of days later it came back on. I think BMW was messing with it and took it down temporarily. See if yours comes back in a few days.

3 day forecasts for hi/low temperature, sky conditions and precipitation.

Also the nearby major location/town you are in when driving on a long trip. I have found it useful when driving not sure where exactly I am on new routes.

Hi guys

Weather and news and the apps have all stopped working in my 3month old F32 only noticed last weekend when I tried to connect to the internet.

Not sure how long it has been like it.

I have contacted BMW support and currently awaiting a reply.

I took my car in last week for the same problem. They said it was a problem with the AT&T network, they didn't have an idea when it would get resolved.

Well, looks like my weather disappeared again today. I'll see if it comes back tomorrow.

Update: Yup, came back the next day.

Hi Guys

Just a quick update on missing weather and possible missing car data mpg average speed etc.

If you have had your Head unit out check the most connector is secure.
It is a fibre optic link between your head unit and display I believe.

If you upgrade the display or head unit make sure again the most connector is plug in properly as this will cause loss on connected drive and vehicle information.

Not sure what MY you have, but 2014's were sold with only 36 mo of "Connected" services, and many cars are reaching the end point now. You'd also lose Real Time Traffic info, in addition to BMW Online, Weather, News, etc. Starting in 2015, it was increased to 48 months.

Seems like an issue on the BMW side. Weather is back for me I noticed the version is now 1.36.1 so these issues could be when bmw sends updates. But my news and yelp app don't work yelp stop 3 weeks ago and news stopped 2 days ago.

What makes me think its a bmw issue is that I had a bmw loaner car and it was doing the same.

I have ID6 I dont think it matters if its id5 or 6 same thing just different front end

MY 2017. Had the car ~9 months. Traffic works

I’d be interested to see if anyone else could check fuel prices (bottom of Nav menu) to see if theirs work, or try news. Mine just sits loading either...... but never manages to load.
