#MelbourneMadness - Frozen F30

Hey all,

My F30 335i may look frozen, but it's actually satin clear bra. I was even featured on the XPEL Blog - http://www.xpel.com/melbourne-madness-stealth-bmw/ -

Everything came together after the XPEL STEALTH wrap. The incredible Vossen VFS6 Gloss Graphite wheels, Thule Roof Rack and Bike Rack, and gloss black stripes give her a whole new look!

I love it! Let me know what you think.

Can't believe the car looks this good!! Time to go for a drive!

Yeah I thought about that. But they're red! The back ones at least. The front ones I kinda like OEM.

Car is not aggressive enough for the stripes IMO. The matte clear bra looks good. I've seen many done in person.

Everything looks pretty good. Would you consider getting M sport bumpers? That'll add a lot to the car in my opinion

How much did it cost to wrap the whole car?

This looks like a great idea, especially once wrapped there is no need to polish and wax, right? Also a brand new car can be wrapped, then unwrapped when sold at, say, 100k miles, and still look brand new?!?

How do hand wash and car wash work on the wrap? And is it easy to remove without clear coat and paint damages?

Full STEALTH wrap is around $5,000 or so. It's not vinyl, it's clear bra so it's much more thick and warrantied for 10 years too.

Right, do not need to polish or wax ever. Correct on the question! The paint will look brand new.

Easy to wash, you can even drive through auto car wash. If you peel it off with a steamer or heat gun then the paint shouldn't be damaged at all.

I personally think it looks good the way it is.. add a spoiler and other m elements and you add lines to the form which take away from the look.. the way it looks now reminds me of the lines of a 70's muscle car

Hard to wrap an older F30. Mine has 48k and too many imperfections in the paint. You can wrap a car for a little less but maybe this would be a better route for paint protection but I think a regular vinyl wrap would do very similar and you can change your car to any color. Love the idea but not sure the ROI is there but again its not for many things we do to the cars.

See that's the thing with vinyl wraps, they're not durable. Most vinyl is 2-4 mil in thickness. While the XPEL is 8.5mil thick and 10 year warrantied. While vinyl is cool, I think the purposes for vinyl and paint protection film are completely different.

Looking good. If the car were actually frozen MR I would suggest doing this even more. A neighbor of my dad's has a matte grey SL550. He had the entire car wrapped in xpel as well. Already saved him a full repaint after someone tried to key the driver side. Just peeled it off and installed new.

Are the stripes over the xpel or under it?

That's awesome and really smart to protect factory satin matte paint. The stripes are over the film.
