Are ED and Port Installed Accessories no longer compatible?

I posted this in the Ordering and ED forum as well, but thought that they'd be more traffic here.

I'm trying to put together a 440 ED with port installed accessories and have been told by my dealer that it's not possible to combine the two. I know that it could be done in the past, so I was wondering whether anyone here has any recent experience. Thanks.

As far as I know, no, they are not. With PIA, the parts they take off your car and keep are "new" parts. With ED, part of the discount is because the car is imported as a "used" vehicle. Therefore, they're not going to take in the used parts. That's the explanation I remember hearing some time ago.

They have never been compatible to my understanding.

You can do PIA's and PCD!! But not PIA's and ED.

Thanks guys. I had posted the same question at the end of this thread http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=859495 and the answer came back the same.

Oddly, that thread was started about four years ago with a guy doing both ED and PIA. I think it was available then, but was discontinued shortly thereafter (about three and a half years ago).
