They all realized what they really wanted was a M3/M4, respectively

I absolutely love my f32. Prefer coupes over sedans.

Nope, perfectly happy with my new F32 435ix MSport

and NO, I wasn't looking for (nor will I be looking for) an M3 (why would I want a 4 door sports car ) nor an M4...

Very happy with the 435i M spec with a few added tweaks.

I feel like there are probably various factors at play here aside from the obvious - some people may really dislike their Fxx car...enough so to get rid of it in 1 year.

I bought my 2014 F32 a few months before the 2015 was released and received offers from my bmw dealership asking me if I want the next year up for the same monthly payment. I wouldn't be surprised if a sizable portion of people actually did something like this.

Also, we have to factor in the fact that owning a BMW 3 series was and probably still is a dream for most car enthusiasts. These cars are not cheap....on a 48 month lease, a fully loaded Civic Coupe in Canada will run you just about 400CAD monthly. A fully loaded F32 is close to 3 times that amount. I wonder how many consumers realize that luxury goods offer less actual utility per dollar than economy goods. Probably quite a few people come to this realization in year one.

Of course this number is meaningless without comparing the F32 to applicable Audi, Mercedes, Caddilac numbers.

Then a second group who can barely afford a F3x but want to put damaged used parts on their car as they cannot afford to do it right. Bottom line, as stated to me, F3x owners are cheap.

These people had no business buying a F3x in the first place.

And they give F3x owners a bad rap, as seen from what others say about F3x owners, the numbers you posted and what can be seen daily in the classifieds.

There would be a myriad of reasons why this is happening but does it really matter what a survey says? We love our cars and derive pleasure from driving them. 'Nuff said.

I wonder if these are lower line 3 series cars with limited options. I see them everywhere.

IIRC BMW dumped a ton of "no line" cars on the market during first two years of the F3x series.

We sold our 2013 F30 and replaced it with the 2016 F36 GC, no regrets there. It's a different driving car than the F30.

Really like my F32, but do think it's too big and too long.

Can't beat the sex appeal of the car though.

That's exactly how I got my 340. Found a 1 year old with 10k miles and 24% off msrp.

There is another thread on this. It was pointed out that the dealers use F30's as loaners and therefore register and sell as CPO. Think the F32 would be different though... probably tough to get a car seat in if the family grows :

It's only tough if the kid is still in the baby carrier vs a booster. My daughter has been in my e92 since she was 4 and there was no issues...she's 8 and obviously no issues in my f32.

My buddy drives a 911 C4S and has two booster seats in the back.

Mind you both our wives have SUV's for long trips but we both drive our kids to school in our two doors.

It's definitely possible!

There are plenty of kids driving F2X/F3X cars that live at home with their parents because their annual income is barely more than the MSRP of the car they purchased.
