Anybody know what this is?

Just wondering what is inside the little vents near front reading lighting and sunroof button console. I thought they were lights but upon inspection they are not and don't seem to be listed in owner manual.

Not sure?? On my 2016 there are speaker-like cutouts next to the grab handles on the passenger and driver sides.. Those might be the BT mics?

The mics are in small grilles above the driver and front passenger seats.

If you have alarm equipped that area hides the interior sensors linked to the alarm I believe.

Seems feasible, as I do have an alarm, but why the vents? Are they infrared and need visibility?

I have the alarm and I'm not sure. But there are three sensors in mine one in each grill angled slightly differently. Not really sure how they work

I'm assuming it works the same way a motion sensor works on an outdoor light so they would need visibility. A couple of weeks ago, my son was in the back seat with the car off in my driveway. I ran in the house to get something and locked the doors, when I came out 30 seconds later the alarm was on.

Not just 'design'? Addition by subtraction...remove material for design/make it lighter/cheaper (?).

Looks like 3 little speakers/mics in there. I'd say sensors for the alarm as well.

Those are the interior motion sensors.
