After a long wait I finally got it last week. Got a substantial discount given it's a 2016 model and I received it well into 2017.

I know a lot of people cringe at the idea, particularly considering it was a BMW Individual paint (Tanzanite Blue), but I had it repainted in Arctic Gray Metallic. (Save it, criticism of this sort will fall on deaf ears, I didn't like the blue at all)

From what I've read, unlike other 340i limited edition models, this one did not bring the M Performance brakes in blue, nor the navigation system with the 20GB hard drive, as the dealer said the GPS features are not available in my country.

Took it for a ride through the countryside throughout the weekend and I'm very happy with it.-

I don't necessarily have a problem with you not liking the color, I'm not a fan of Tanzanite Blue either, but why not just get a regular 340i in the color you want? Did they spray the engine bay?

I would have, but they didn't have anything else available. I was upgrading from a 2008 325i and every other model available at the dealership had a smaller engine. I was looking for equivalent or higher and this was all they had in stock. Everything else would have meant a 6 month minimum delay (plus paperwork upon arrival). Paint job and paperwork took from mid November till now.

As for the engine bay, the inside area of the panels (when the hood is open) was painted, yes.-

Right on. As long as the paint job was good! I didn't read up too much on the 40th AE. Any other special features that it has over the standard F30?

Así me dijo el de la agencia. A mi también me parece bastante raro, pues Waze funciona perfectamente bien, y mi reloj Garmin funciona con GPS perfectamente. No sé por qué BMW no ofrece el sistema GPS en sus vehículos acá.

Other than the glaring omissions I mentioned (which are otherwise present in similar models I've read about) it comes with:

-M sport package
-M steering wheel
-M suspension
-M Performance Double Spoke rims in orbit grey
-Sport seats
-BMW Individual leather in black (Dakota I believe)
-BMW Individual piano black trim
-BMW Individual paint in Tanzanite Blue (which I got rid of, as mentioned)
-Harman Kardon surround system
-Smoker package
-Illumination package
-Storage package
-Moonroof (though I believe this is standard in all the 340i's)
-Aerodynamic package

Overall fairly maxed out. Too bad that unlike its siblings it didn't come with the Blue M Performance brakes.

I noticed you owned a 340i before, did you feel a huge leap from this to the M3?

Are they badged? I've only ever owned one limited edition car, a 25th Anniversary of Quattro S4, #33 of 250. There was a special badge on the shift knob that said 1 of 250. Anything like that on the 340th?

Nice! My stepfather owned a few Audi's while I was growing up, unlike other people I have a high regard for them.

Yes, it has two small M badges up front, M door sills and a big 3 with an intertwined 40 on the piano black trim. (40th anniversary of the 3 series)

The 20 for Japan which you mentioned and from what the salesman at the dealership told me, 40 for all of Latin America out of which only 2 came to my country (From a picture he showed me of the other owner with his unit, the other one was in black).

That's pretty cool about the M3! For my part I'm taking it easy on this B-58 engine as I've only really driven two 325i's over the past 16 years or so. The N54K produced comparatively little power at 218 HP so this is a major boost for me.

The Smoker's Package is nothing more than an ash tray with a lid that is shaped to fit into one of the forward cup holders. Haha

Congrats, nice car. I'd guess you have a 1 of 1 in AGM given it's been painted. You waited 6 months to get it processed/painted anyway; I would have ordered the color I wanted if the time was the same.

Apparently their shop was pretty busy, and during the month of December (I bought in November) virtually everything crawls to a halt in this country so that was basically a wasted month and January is usually a slow start.

Thank you! Yep, it's the Arctic Grey. I noticed that, but I think it has more to do with when I edited the brightness and sharpness of the pictures, no hint of blue at all in real life. Hehe

Huh, interesting that you repainted it. I like TB but its not the best BMW blue. How much did the repaint cost? Did they paint the insides of the doors, under the hood/trunk etc? I like Arctic Grey, so great choice in the repaint color!

I also think it's very interesting you repainted it. As an individual color Tanzanite Blue adds a $2,900 up charge, at least in the states. Seems like a shame to cover that up but more power to you, hope you love the car!

Yeah, I know it's quite a pricey paint. To add a bit more background to the story, I went into the dealership looking to buy a 750li. They didn't have it. I had been driving two different 325i´s for the past 16 years or so, so I was looking to upgrade from that. They didn't have anything either, they only offered me 320i's, 420i's, etc... The only vehicle the salesman had in stock at the time was this 340i 2016. Considering all the 2017´s were already replacing the 2016's, he offered me a 10k$ discount. It is fairly stocked up in terms of options so I gave it more serious consideration... I just hated the color for myself. I actually think it's a nice color in itself... just for someone else! haha

At any rate, I'm very happy with it.

Thank you! The repaint cost 900$, (Was told it would have been 2000$) I got a discount because my family and I have had a long-standing relation with the dealership.

Yes, they painted the insides of the doors, hood, trunk. Overall a very decent job. Probably not comparable to the original factory, but nothing I can complain about so far.
