Has anyone ever heard a weird noise (sounds like a dull weed whacker) when driving next another vehicle? This noise is coming from my wife's MPPK 335i (2014), brakes and rotors have already been replaced and the mouse is still there. Any feedback from anyone would be great! Thanks!

is this when you brake only ? im not sure how a dull weed whacker sounds like but i have a weird chirping sound almost like when your smoke alarm is running low on battery. around 1200to1500 rpm.

Thanks for the reply! It's not when she's braking, it's actually while she's in motion. The dealership said it's because she has slotted and partially drilled rotors that her car makes that noise. Just wondering if anyone else that has upgraded brakes has the same noise experience.

The only sound I've ever heard due to slotted and drilled rotors is sort of a humming sound when braking.

I had what may be a similar noise on my BMW F30. BMW published a "Noise from the Heating and Air Conditioning" service bulletin SI B64 01 14 issued February 2014. My 2014 335i made a noise between 2-2,500 RPM under certain load conditions. A weight kit was installed to dampen the vibrations on the A/C low-pressure hose from the dealer. This corrected the issue and I have not had any noise since. I would contact the dealer and see if this was installed on your vehicle. Good luck!
